Tuxedo is the boogie funk collaboration between Mayer Hawthorne and Jake One. The duo are descendants of the one word family of funk, where you will find groups such as Chic, Shalamar, and Zapp. The collaboration began with an exchange of mix tapes back in 2006, which manifested into a full boogie record. Tuxedo is released on Stones Throw Records, which also marks Mayer's return to the label since A Strange Arrangement in 2009.
