Rita Moss - Jingle Bells / Shooting High Music CD

A jazz ballad singer and self-taught multi-instrumentalist, Rita Moss was best known for her impressive 4-octave vocal range. Moss's recording career began in the early 1950's, and by the end of the decade she began to focus more on touring and night-club appearances which continued into the late 1960's. Moss became associated at that time with the "exotica" style, displaying vocal gymnastics rivaling the great Yma Sumac. A captivating night-club performer, Rita became known as "Queen Moss" to her loyal legion of fans. Presented here is a rare single originally released in 1964. The "A" side is an unusual take on the Christmas classic "Jingle Bells," while the "B" featured the Jimmy McHugh, Ted Koehler classic "(I'm) Shooting High." the rare single is newly remastered and finally available in the digital domain.
