Rawhide Harness Leather Browband Headstall

A browband headstall cut from harness leather and finished with hand-braided rawhide keepers.

The leather is thick but broken in soft, so it takes the shape of the horse's head rather than standing off it. Double stitching runs the length of the cheeks, where a working headstall takes its load. The bit ends are tied rather than buckled, so a bit change takes a minute and there is no hardware at the mouth to add weight or catch. The rawhide is braided by hand, which is why no two keepers match exactly.
