The pieces are matched on leather and hardware rather than assembled from what was in stock, so the chocolate harness of the breast collar and slobber straps reads against the rawhide of the headstall instead of competing with it. The mecate gives both a rein and a lead. The bit is a level 1, which is where most horses in regular work belong.
