Wood & Sterling Silver Bar Necklace, Vertical Stone Inlay

A slim vertical wood bar with a line of crushed natural stone set flush into the grain, on an adjustable sterling silver chain. It pairs the warmth of wood with a band of real gemstone color.

Materials and craft

I cut each bar from solid hardwood, rout a fine channel, and fill it with crushed natural stone, then sand it level and finish it by hand. Turquoise and lapis lazuli read bold and blue; opal and mother of pearl are soft and light; green tourmaline is deep and earthy. Made in my one-person studio in Hamilton, Ohio, on genuine sterling silver.

Care

Keep it dry when you can and wipe it with a soft cloth. If the wood looks dry over time, refresh it with a drop of food-safe mineral oil or my Wood Butter.
