Ganesha is one of the most loved gods in Hinduism: the remover of obstacles, patron of learning and the lord of beginnings. He is honoured first, at the start of prayers, weddings, journeys and new ventures.
His elephant head stands for wisdom, and his large belly for the whole universe held within.
Where to Place It
By tradition Ganesha is placed near the entrance of a home or on the family shrine, facing into the room and never directly on the floor.
Care
Dust with a soft, dry cloth or a soft brush. Keep it indoors and out of long direct sun, which fades painted finishes; no water or cleaners on the paint.
