About the Stones
Kunzite. Kunzite is the pink-to-lilac gem variety of spodumene, a lithium mineral coloured by traces of manganese and named for George Frederick Kunz, Tiffany's gemmologist, who described it from California in 1902.
Green Aventurine. Aventurine is quartz with inclusions that give it color; Green Aventurine's come from fuchsite mica, made green by chromium — the same element that makes emeralds green.
Prehnite. Prehnite is a calcium aluminium silicate, usually a soft apple-green, often with dark epidote needles running through it.
Care
Kunzite fades in sunlight, so store the set in its box, out of the light. Take it off for the shower and swimming, keep it away from perfume and lotion so the gold finish lasts, and wipe it with a soft cloth.
