It is fairly uncommon, found in a few remote spots around the globe, though larger deposits have been found in places like Russia, where it was proudly used to decorate the palaces of the Czars. Chakras: Heart and High Heart.

About the Stones
Kunzite. Kunzite is the pink-to-lilac gem variety of spodumene, a lithium mineral coloured by traces of manganese and named for George Frederick Kunz, Tiffany's gemmologist, who described it from California in 1902.
Rose Quartz. Rose Quartz is a member of the Quartz family; its pale pink comes from hair-like fiber minerals too small to see.
Rhodonite. Not to be confused with Rhodochrosite, the softer, banded pink manganese carbonate, which has its own teaching.
Care
Kunzite fades in sunlight, so store the set in its box, out of the light. Take it off for the shower and swimming, keep it away from perfume and lotion so the gold finish lasts, and wipe it with a soft cloth.
