The RS2 Emerger is one of the most effective and widely respected technical trout patterns ever developed. Originally designed for selective tailwater trout, the RS2 excels during hatch activity when fish are feeding on emerging insects just below or within the surface film.

Although commonly referred to as an emerger, the RS2 is an extremely versatile pattern capable of imitating emerging nymphs, midge pupae, and crippled adults during a wide variety of hatch situations. Its slim profile and subtle presentation make it especially effective for pressured trout in clear water and technical fisheries.

The RS2 fishes exceptionally well in rivers, streams, tailwaters, and spring creeks where trout are keyed in on small emerging insects and refuse larger or more aggressive patterns.
